Received an update from Max's family. He is in obedience training with seven other dogs and the instructor often uses Max for demonstrations. He has learned "settle down", "leave it", "okay", "wait", "let's go" among other commands, and his owners are teaching him "turn left" and "turn right" during his twice daily walks. He is very social and loves other dogs and people, yet knows his owners and checks in with them frequently during play time. They report that it is very rewarding training him, as he "gets it" after only a couple of repititions. He is now 28 lbs. and cutting his adult teeth. They said he has not had a single accident since arriving at their home. He was housebroken here at our home, but sometimes changes are confusing.
The puppies parents know turn right and turn left and it comes in very handy during walks, especially with multiple dogs so I don't trip over leashes. India, your pups mom, is in heat again, so has not left my side in over a week. Poor Morocco is frustrated and gets kenneled alone at night. He is better though, as he is older. He used to move the kennel across the rooms, but now it quiet. The dogs were trimmed down to about a 2" rise this week. I need to bathe them and trim their feet a bit better, but now that the temperatures are warmer, a good clipping was needed.
Received a quick note from Menina's mom. Menina is 23 lbs. and doing well.
I hope all of you have enrolled them in some type of training. Training now, will reap immense benefits for the remainder of your pups life with you, as they will be well behaved and no your expectations. A PWD needs daily exercise and "a job", as they are a working dog, so think of ways in which they will feel needed. A high energy dog with no activity and no job, can create chaos in your home. Daily walks are crucial for the pups, so if you can't take them out, get them on a treadmill and allow them to develop those muscles and release energy.
Hope all is well in your homes. Happy Spring.

Hi all, Moca was 17 lbs the same week Max was 23 lbs. and Koal was 28 lbs. Just heard from Lisa, Maxx's new mom and he is also 28 lbs. Wow, the males are really getting big. Moca is enrolled in a puppy social class and she loves playing with all of the dogs. She takes walks out on the frozen lake in front of her home, loves the snow (good thing since she lives in Alaska), has begun a training class and just went to the groomer. A picture of her is posted. She is going to enter the show rin... Continue reading...

Max arrived safely in Alabama, and flew in to Atlanta in the snow yesterday. He felt right at home, arriving with snow on the ground. Koals mom sent me pictures of him with his new family, and we also have pictures of Max and his new family. If you send pictures my way, with your permission, I will post them. Continue reading...

I have been told by a few of you that the pups are biting too hard, chewing on pant legs and jumping on people. Here are just a few suggestions.
Your pup may be treating you like litter mates. They have a strong need and desire to play and roughhouse and if he/she can go to a puppy social time where he/she can get the rough play out of his system, they will be a great pup. Your pup needs to know how much is too much, and his parents or littermates will tell him that. It is not always t... Continue reading...

Hi all, Max is flying to Alabama tomorrow morning. I have had him for about five weeks and have been weepy all week, but this is what is best for Max. He is going to a great family with two boys and another dog, a Wheaten Terrier. He will get walks around the lake every day and spend time on another lake on weekends, so life will be good for him. I have to ship him, as he is now 22.8 lbs and cannot be carried on a plane. As you all know, I very much dislike to ship a pup, so the tears a... Continue reading...

Heard from Moca's mom and dad. She is going to a puppy play time and having a great time with other pups her age. She is doing well and rings the bell on the back door to go out, or to play. Will post an updated picture of her. They are going to show her and I wish them the best on the circuit.
Penelope lives with another PWD and goes to work with her new dad. She is learning to tell them when she has to be let out and is doing well with house breaking. She is a little over 17 lbs. now... Continue reading...

Puppy 6 is now Sherman and will be going to a wonderful home in Colorado, with a loving family and three boys. It was so nice to read her email, and her first sentence when I told her that after interviewing five families and hearing from his surgeon about altitude, she could adopt him if she desired, was "I am so excited." It brought tears to my eyes and the family is all coming this weekend to pick him up. He will be well taken care of, get the exercise necessary for a healthy life, yet ... Continue reading...

Hi all. I have posted new pictures of Puppy 2-Menina. I have Pics of Puppy 3-Maxx, but cannot get them to upload. I must assume no news is good news, so this will be my last blog for this litter, unless someone sends pictures or gives me an update. If you subscribe, you will be notified and I will always post new pics if I receive them, as long as they are not scanned, as this program does not accept a scanned copy. I am puppy sitting Puppy 8 this next week, and look forward to it. We are... Continue reading...

I have updates on Puppy 6. We love him so much. He has such a wonderful, gentle personality. I have not kept a pup for 10 weeks, so I have not had the privilege of seeing how they grow and learn independently. I too, am surprised at their intelligence. Time and love truly do pay off in a quality pup. Yesterday, he barked for the first time. It was so cute. He was playing with his mom and she got him riled up and he let out a couple of quiet barks. My adults do not bark, so he does not h... Continue reading...

Don't forget to eat your black eyed peas tomorrow. I think I will give Puppy 6 some also, for great luck in the new year. I will keep this blog up for a couple of weeks, until Puppy 6 goes to his new home, then I will close it out, as I don't have Puppy stories to write.. India has been playing with the puppy all day today. He needs that interaction, and she is not overwhelmed with 9 pups jumping and trying to suckle. She lays on the floor and rolls around with him. She lets him bite and ... Continue reading...
